Here are some student comments we have received. We are proud of what they are saying about our training and appreciate their feedback!

My wife and I attended the course with no experience with anything other than a BB gun for myself and zero experience with guns for my wife. The instructor went out of her way to make us comfortable and really stressed safety above everything else. The class is very interactive and informal. Best of all we got to spend as much time as we wanted on the range and got experience with several different types of guns. It was clear that the class wasn’t going to end until we were satisfied with our training. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is a beginner and wants to learn more about guns and gun safety. — Anthony B.

Suzanne was a terrific instructor– thorough, punctual, organized, and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She was very concerned for my comfort and safety, which I would say sets her apart from most instructors. I highly recommend her to anyone who is new to firearms. — Sue J.

I can highly recommend Suzanne and Allied Gun Academy, without reservation. I chose Suzanne’s course because information on her website suggested she was meticulous and methodical in her approach to training, and that the course would be a nice fit for a beginner like me. I was right! I left with the confidence to properly use my new handgun, which I had never fired prior to this class, and the urge to try other calibers and gun types.

Most notably, Suzanne stayed about an hour after the scheduled end of the class, to ensure that all of us had adequate time on the range, and got to sample different types of guns that she had brought. This dedication speaks volumes about the quality of an instructor. — Alex C.

Suzanne was a great instructor. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the course more fun and less intimidating. — Marian T.

We took this class as a couple and it was well worth it. This allowed personal attention and complete involvement. This was the first formal training for my wife and a great refresher course for me. The instructor was knowledgeable and professional. She never talked down to us and there was a welcome lack of “war stories” that some trainers subject you to.

For women, couples or older folks like us, the class was perfect and very hands on. We particularly were pleased with the individualized coaching at the range. We intend to go back on a regular basis for further coaching for our shooting skills. — David J.

Having recently bought my wife a new gun, I wanted her to learn how to use it. As a competent shooter, I thought I knew enough to teach her, but as I read some of the literature, I realized that there was a lot about guns and ammunition I did not know.

We attended the class together and we were both pleased with the quality and quantity of information we were provided. It was a relaxed environment with just a few people in the entire class, so we were invited to ask questions and to be involved. I definitely learned a lot and am really glad that we took the class. I would have missed a lot of important information sharing what I thought I knew. — Keith R.

I went to this class having a fear of firearms. My husband talked me into going with him. I was still scared when I shot my gun for the first time. But my instructor was so helpful and nice. I love shooting now and plan on going back to the shooting range more often. — Terresa C.

I went in knowing nothing about guns or what to get for home defense. The extra $50 was totally worth it. I got to try shotguns and rifles of different sizes and types plus 6 different handguns, including pistols and revolvers! Of all of the instructors I called, this was the only one who offered such a broad range of shooting experiences. I give this instructor an A++! — Mike B.

The course lived up to it’s billing. Very informative. Instructor made good use of the time and answered all questions. I was especially pleased with the instructor’s attention and guidance at the shooting range! — John U.

A great basic course! — Ann

This class has good bones. Starts at the beginning, and moves you through. Good structure. — Bobby

I took a Florida concealed permit course from a range three months ago. The instruction felt rushed and the classroom was too large to feel free to ask “stupid questions.” I left feeling very unsure that I really knew what I was doing. When we got to the range, we only got to shoot a few rounds. I was disappointed, because I expected more shooting practice in an hour course.

Still feeling very afraid of handling a gun, I looked for another class that might give me comfort. Searching the NRA site for a local instructor, I came across Allied Gun Academy and immediately felt very comfortable after talking to Suzanne to get more information. She was courteous and helpful over the phone as in person. I took her basic firearms course. I could not be happier for the valuable information I received. — Kelly M.

I would recommend this class and our instructor to anyone. The instruction was informative and complete. The instructor was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Everything I had hoped for and then some. Best value I’ve received in quite a while. — Fred C.

My daughter moved to Orlando to work for Disney World. I wanted her to be able to protect herself and to get a concealed permit. As a federal law enforcement officer, I understand how important it is to learn the basics from a professional source.

Bad habits are hard to break, and there is a lot that needs to be ingrained from the get-go. If you want to get the women in your family the proper knowledge to defend themselves against an attacker, Suzanne’s instruction cannot be beat. Never having handled a before, needless to say, my daughter was nervous wreck. After just a few hours, she walked away with confidence, having had the opportunity to shoot a few different calibers of weapons to find out what she was comfortable using. She now feels she has the skills to survive any altercation. — Janet F.

Thank you so much for being so patient with me! I was afraid of feeling stupid when I attended your course, and I was put at ease the second I sat down. I learned so much more than I thought I would, and I’m very pleased that I now know how to use my gun. You are great! — Connie L.

My husband likes to go shooting on a regular basis and I have had a revolver for a few years that I seldom shoot. I keep it with me, and know I can operate it if needed, but every time I go to the range with my husband, I sit in the waiting room for him to finish shooting. He is abrupt and makes me feel unsure. When I found out about this class, I was initially skeptical, because I took another, similar class two years ago. I that class, everyone was seated in the classroom, and a 1980s-vintage DVD video was played for 90 minutes. With only five minutes of actual instructor education we were taken to the range. I was told about Allied Gun Academy and how much Suzanne actually cares about imparting her knowledge. I took her small class and walked away finally knowing how guns operate. When we got to the range, we had already spent 20 minutes going through the proper grip and shooting positions. When we got to the range, I got a full 30 minutes of one-on-one instruction and oversight to make sure that I was using proper grip and stance. Needless to say, I was able to shoot properly and routinely hit what I was aiming at! — Samantha Y.

I took a CWL course at a gun show in Orlando (with dozens of other students!) where all I had to do after the classroom was “shoot into a box.” Not the best way to learn how to shoot. Thanks to Suzanne, I actually know how to use my gun now and feel comfortable practicing at the range. — Stephanie L.

I had not shot for at least 20 years and bought a new gun for my wife and me to stay safe. We took the class, driving over 100 miles to find a female instructor that came highly recommended. The drive was well worth it. The instruction was top-notch! Even though we came with our own 9 mm Glock (which we had never fired), Suzanne made sure that we could operate a .22 caliber handgun first and then helped us become proficient with our own gun. — Tom U.

Suzanne is very patient and takes the time to make sure each of her students is put at ease. She proved her knowledge and expertise and I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn about guns and how to shoot. I did not want a pushy man talking down to me and moving too fast, and Suzanne assured me that she works with all her students until they are ready to move forward. Her instruction made me feel very confident. It took me some time to figure out the process to operate my handgun and Suzanne continued to be very patient, going through the process and explaining it until I finally got it. She found ways to repeat the information in different ways so that when I finally understood, I never needed to ask again! I now know how to load bullets, how to hold my gun, how to stand and how to deal with malfunctions that can be dangerous. The best thing is that I was able to get a bulls-eye at 25 feet! — Andrea V.

The best thing about this class was being able to shoot several different guns to get a good feel for what I wanted to use for self defense. I was given a good idea of the different calibers and different bullet types so that I understand what has good stopping power now. I needed to find out what the different guns felt like when they were fired so that I did not get something that had too much power for me to use safely. I’m glad that I found Allied Gun Academy and I can’t wait for future classes for additional knowledge and experience. — Lisa F.
